In 1974, our CEO, Kevin Harberts, experienced a turning point in his life when he was fired from his high school job. It was that moment, all those years ago, that set our innovative leader on his new journey and lifelong endeavor in manufacturing. Looking back, Kevin says losing that job was one of the best things that ever happened to him.
In 1981, at age 25, Kevin was part of a three-person group that founded Iowa Metal Spinners, Inc. Working hard to operate and build the business by day, and raising two young daughters with his wife by night, Kevin’s steadfast mentality of “don’t ever quit” led the company towards being the innovative manufacturing solutions provider it is today.
By 1997, Kevin had fully committed himself to the industry and the customers he served by becoming the sole owner and leader of the company. In 2000, the growing company moved into a new 105,000 sq. ft. facility.
In 2011, we officially changed our name from Iowa Metal Spinners to KRYTON Engineered Metals in order to better represent what we do. Then, in 2017, we expanded to a second location with an additional 30,000 sq. ft. of space designed for assembly work.
We are a leading manufacturer of spun metal component and fabrication parts. Our main focus is on being a solution provider for our customers’ problems and maintaining a relentless pursuit of excellence.
As an ISO certifed manufacturer, we proudly produce cutting edge metal engineering solutions from our headquarters in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Inside our new state-of-the-art facility, three lasers combine to deliver over 13,0000 watts of metal cutting power, and our robotic assisted CNC work cell delivers unmatched speed and precision.
